Welcome to EVENTS in the Deep Adaptation Forum. Skilled facilitators and community members lovingly offer these events to promote community, understanding, support, and inner and outer adaptation to climate disruption. Most events are via Zoom.
All events are for persons over 18 who recognize the likelihood of societal collapse from climate change and environmental degradation and agree to abide by the DAF’s Charter.

A 90-minute monthly drop-in learn/practice group for Compassionate Communication (NVC). No experience necessary. Each session we will have a nutshell new/review summary of Marshall Rosenberg's NVC, spend a bit of time on one aspect of it, and then do exercises or role plays with your real-world situations. We will use humility, flexibility, and creativity to get the most out of this tool.

The first hour of the gathering will be dedicated to connecting/reconnecting with one another around our journeys of Deep Adaptation. The second hour will be for participants to share if they have any issues/dilemmas/challenges, or just listen and provide feedback.

New members and other interested parties! Please join us for a Deep Adaptation Welcoming Circle. We'll have introductions and meet each other in small groups, and hear from some longer term DA members about their journey. We will also have space for your questions, ideas and any concerns about Deep Adaptation - the process, and our forums. You're welcome to attend, even if you aren't that new to Deep Adapation, and have been to a circle before.
Deep Listening gatherings are a safe space in which to show up exactly as you are, share from the heart, and practice the sacred act of listening, deeply and without judgment. Feel better resourced and practise being a resource for others.
Twice a month, Earth Listening is scheduled at a more convenient time for Australian & Asian times. You are very welcome to join us in this enriching exploration of our connection to the Earth. Climate grief brings us together, but all losses including social, political and personal, past, present and future, are welcome. This event is not designed to address recent personal bereavement. Using Ursula Le Guin’s carrier bag theory of fiction as our starting point we will look at western culture’s fixation with the hero and his stories of struggle, domination and individual greatness. With creative playfulness we will try to undermine the hero’s hold on our imagination and see how we can create a space that celebrates multiple voices, the everyday and the accidental.

Falling into Place is an online gathering providing space for and giving attention to endings. It’s emerged from personal experience that “When I can no longer rise to the occasion, I find there’s an opportunity to fall into place.” Sarah-Jane Menato and Barbara Cecil will co-host these gatherings.
